Tool used: Articulate Storyline
Vyond
For this project, I provided a sample of the kind of scenario-based learning I create. I always consider that some learners have more background information or experience with a job than others, and so not all learners need the same information when it comes to training. Therefore, I find it best to come right out with a real-world situation that learners might encounter on the job and let them make a decision about how to handle it. Then, instead of just a "wrong, try again" response, I provide learners with a consequence that could result from their action and an opportunity to learn from their decisions. For learners who do need information, I provide an option to find that. Learners who do not need it are not bombarded with unnecessary information, and learners who need it can find it.
I used Vyond to create the videos and Storyline triggers and states to create the movement through the scenario.
This is just a sample of this course. Additional ways to earn stars for the shift could include handling a disgruntled customer, dealing with returns, handling shoplifters and managing sales.
